and Ohio....a miracle......and then flooding in NE Iowa....and flooding in

Elation Day!! It was yesterday! Still feelin' it!!
My Dear Jane Baby (with attitude) got her souls last stitch at 530 pm
August 25th 2016!!! Started her journey in February and as some of
you may know I have had sciatica since I started her. I would love
to say the pain is gone....when I finished her up....but it is not, but it
is improving. I am going up stairs better now....we are strengthening
the smaller Gluteal Muscle.....my nights can still be problematic....
but I keep Quilting....just shorter times standing at my Suziebell or sitting
at the sewing machine....
So, I am happy to say I have 3 heirloom quilts ready for our 3 kids.....my gift
to them....later....2 Farmer Wives and 1 Dear Jane.....
I am figuring out what top to do next....I think it will be my Granny Square I

pieced a couple years ago while snowbound in our cabin in Indiana.
My hub did finish the back metal roof....we did the pressure washer on theback siding (SC has a problem with algae growing on siding in summer)....
next job?....get the plastic up on our gothic greenhouse so we can order the2nd one.....retirement is a journey.....you have to have energy for!!!

......with sciatica going on I work in shorter intervals than I did before this ugly attack....I am swimming everyday if the thunderstorms give me a break this summer in SC!!.
....we are NOT complaining about the rain......the holistic DR that I am going to started me on Thyroid support as my level finally fell below normal...it has been low normal before....so T3 is getting some attention and with that he hopes to see my sugar levels come down and THEY ARE!!....so that will help with my nerve inflammation also.....the Chiropractor moved me to every 2 weeks as he see progress in muscle memory with my adjustment to my L4.....rt leg shorter than left leg due to right hip higher than the left.....I still think it was growing up in a large family that always had babies to carry on my rt hip as I grew up.....even my Mom entered in and had 3 girls after she was 41....making my life spicey for sure!!........
Take care of your priformis muscle as you sit and quilt....stretch, exercise, use a good therapeutic chair cushion....don't go where I have been since February!!...

repeated the phrase, No Pain No Jane. My body took it literally, when
after I started it February 12th of this year I soon came down with
Sciatica .... I felt like I had the flu....my legs were weak and then I had no stamina in my right leg especially. Piriformis Syndrome must involved too, according to my night time pain in my hip......not much sleep in 4 months.....

We tried different things ourselves, thinking whatever it was, it would leave soon. We finished up the kitchen and the new bathroom too and I quilted on Jane Baby.....Finally, as God would lead us,
we found what we needed.
I tried deep and painful muscle massage first and then acupuncture; along with seeing our holistic MD.....he is getting my blood sugars back into normal ranges too....so now we are at the Chiropractor two times a week.
My sacrum is twisted and my left leg is longer than my right leg....the sciatic nerve runs from your ankles to your brain....I guess this was a NO BRAINER for some, but I have been blessed with good health....no issues, even with heavy hard days and nights as a Nurse...but...it is what it is.
I am just preaching a little as us quilters need more exercises in our life....develop a
NEW PATTERN!!...in your life.....please, never experience what I have....
It may take 4 months to get this conquered.....good news is my xrays showed a
very good spine; slightly swayed inward....but no arthritis.....
So, I am done teaching......I took a few pics with my Iphone of the top on
our bed....over 5200 pieces and 226 fabrics involved....and a Crazy Lady who
lives and loves to Quilt.....
I must add.....my Hub......he is a saint....our vows of for Better or Worse, Richer or Poorer, in Sickness and in Health......46 years......Perfect.

Our Granddaughter came to stay with us....she is going to go to college here in Aiken.....working at Papa Johns....she loves horses....she is helping her Gramps put in posts for our fencing for boarding horses....her dream.....a small income for her and us....

Here is it Memorial Day again. What are your plans?
I thank God for my Veteran Hub who served in the VietNam War.
Our first child, Leah, was born while he was gone....a long year....and
I am grateful for all Military Soldiers and Sailors. Our oldest son served
in the Marine Reserve and then active Army for 11 year. Our oldest
Granddaughter, his daughter, is now serving in the Navy...getting
her training now.
Rejoice in our freedom...our ability to serve God and Man.....and to
get up each morning to decide how to use that day....today I am working on my last block
row of Jane baby....then my triangle border....and my hub and Grandgal that
is staying with us for now are going to start putting in more fence posts to
board self care horses in; Lord willing.
Blessings to day in whatever you may be doing or where ever you may
be going!!.....Yes, i am still with my sciatica but on a good cream and predisone now....hoping....my hubs heel is still barking.....so it goes!! we are thankful anyways!!

are in the process of putting up a greenhouse, funded with a grant.
