Beach Life

Is life a beach for you?
  We have very good family
memories on beaches....sand, water, picnics....relaxing and just laughing together about "nothing"..... catching the "waves"

My neighbor in SC loves lighthouses and going to the beach. So, this is her quilt soon......the pattern is suppose to be
lighthouse light beams...and then the panel was just perfect for her

....The Quilt is done now. It needs
trimmed and bond before the final photo.

Again ,I enjoyed doing the organic straight stitch on it with different spaces between them.  Oh, the back? it is a patriotic print; she has a son who served many tours in Afghanistan as a helicopter pilot....Bless Him and his family.

A Filling Day

Such a blessings today...listened to Elizabeth George and started longarming my SC neighbors" Nautical Quilt....YUM!!!

I am "making a few waves" at the top and bottom and using the straight organic quilting on it.  The fabrics are so gorgeous and the panel in the center is sweet; I will probably echo most of that......  So, I started!!

Such a good good morning....after I read abit and if I hurry and deep clean today, I can longarm later, since it is foggy now and rain is promised later in the day; aw!! can't stain today....booohoooo will have to quilt!!.......

 Two Quilts sent off to two teen Grandgals....Ride on and Urban Beads in the straight line Organic Quilting....Fun!!
  Crop duster flying low over the cabin as I stained between the boards on our back porch....staining is a tedious job, so the diversion was great!!....
   Summer is going forward....it has been a cool one here; only 2 days of Air Conditioning needed
....thats' Craziiness!! but nice on our budget.
   I enjoyed working on these quilts...it is always nice to get them also sent to their new homes and lives!

That is so awesome!  This one is a bit longer but it is sweet too.....Hand Quilting Hints  is what I am going to  call it.
 If you have never hand quilted, please give it a try.  My older sister prefers hand quilting.

 I have a quilt from the 1920's I found with pink houses on it...someone put the pencil marks for hand quilting...I want to get it basted to my quilt frame and give it a try or my lap quilting hoop would be fun too.

I came across this sweet and fun video with Elenor Burns called Hot Hexies. It is short and sweet.
  I do have some already cut Hexies from Bonnie and Camille and so it would be fun to put them together soon too.  You can find Hexie Quilt Ideas on Pinterest too.  I wish I were quilting right now....but with the 70 degree days I am going forward with my paint/stain brush!....we may even get to show the filled up Koi pond soon too....have to run to Pond Supply store today to get more 2 sided tape.....it is awesome for fixing holes in heavy vinyl pond liners....FYI ...wink!   Yes, after being involved in building this cabin with my hub for over 11 years now I have become somewhat of a DIY gal!!.....and it is OK with me!!.....it has been a great journey!.....Ok! I really want to finish my outside work so I can redeem the time again in Quilting....Have a wonderfully cooler than normal, Summer Day!!  Blessings!!!

His Lap Now and Forever....

Is Anyone struggling today?..........From my home to yours...... I am posting this again due to the news of a friend of ours in SC husband passed on Friday.  They run a wonderful natural foods and bakery in Aiken.  They help anyone and everyone they meet.  John passed in a treehouse that he built and designed for friends. Please pray for Rebecca and her family; it was sudden; she had been asking for prayers for just a couple weeks.  God is our Great Shepherd and Great Comforter.....  Keep our focus on Him Alone.....

Picture yourself as a child, crawling up on Jesus' (or your Heavenly Father's) lap. He welcomes you, and holds you securely with one arm–his left arm.  With his right arm he is conducting all the affairs of your life and indeed, the whole world, as a conductor would conduct an amazing symphony.
In this picture he is also singing. With you on his lap, he is singing about how much he loves you, how delighted he is with you. He is singing, "You are my beloved son/daughter, with you I am well pleased." He tells you to rest, since he has done everything that needs to be done. All you have to do is receive all he has for you. He is bursting with joy at all the gifts he has for you..

Civil War Friends

I ran across this great pattern by Bonnie Blue Quilts.....a person could do this pattern in Civil War or you could use Vintage or even the bright Camille or Fig Tree fabric too....never limit yourself because of how you see a quilt put together with some colors or prints that are not you....please "be you"....  I am me ....so You be You!....ok, the sun and stain is getting to my brain....I need thread fiber!!.....Keep it up Girlfriend!!....wanted to post this for you ....please enjoy....wink!!

Do Over?

Here you go girlfriends!!
 We have a new door :)....old French ones are going upstairs off a deck that needs new doors.....we have that deck roofed now.  Auction coming soon....well, August or early September and that seems soon to this chickadee!!...but enjoy the pictures of our winter pond now summer....dogs Golden heads bobbing up each with a wet ball....the new door is great...more practical to get out onto the porch with a arm full of picnic goodies too.  I am sewing on my Wish Upon A Start tonight...so fun...back to the Staining Maniac tomorrow.  God Bless!!...Just wanted to share our little bit of "do over"!
